CATHAY PACIFIC
-The Spirit of Hong-Kong-
In 1946, two men decided to found an airline in Hong Kong, initially based in Shanghai, they rapidly moved to Hong Kong. Cathay Pacific was born. They initially flew to Asian destinations like Manilla, Singapore or Bangkok. The 80’s were the consecration for Cathay. They received their first Boeing 747 in 1979 and started to fly to London the same year, and quickly open new routes to Europe and North America. Today, Cathay operates 148 aircraft (Airbus A330, A350 and Boeing 777) to more than 180 destinations all around the world (including Cathay Dragon’s network).
Today we will present you the airline’s business class service with flight CX339, from Hong Kong to Brussels onboard their Airbus A350.
HONG-KONG AIRPORT
Our departure is scheduled for 00:25, but we are at the airport very early to discover Cathay Pacific’s business lounge offer. Indeed, the airline owns 4 different lounges at Hong Kong airport for its business passengers: The Wing, The Pier, The Deck, The Bridge.
The offer is similar in all of them but there is an effort made in proposing different meals. The best one, and by far, is the Pier where you can find a workplace with computers, phones, printers presented like an open space; a dining area separated into three different spaces: a noodle bar, a teahouse, and a quick bites bar with tapas, cheese board, salads, fish platter, pizzas for example; there is also a bar with a very large selection of beverages. The lounge also offers 14 shower suites equipped with premium bath products and fluffy towels, for a convenient refresh ahead of your flight. The Bridge is a lounge separated in two different areas, a dining area on the right, a working and relaxing space on the left. The Wing, meanwhile, is a smaller and located just after customs.
CABIN REVIEW
The business cabin in this A350 is offering 38 seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. The seat is a Cirrus from the French manufacturer Zodiac Aerospace. Once seated, you can enjoy a comfortable seat having a 45’ pitch and a width of 20’.
A few minutes after boarding, a welcome drink is proposed, followed by an oshibori and the amenity kit. The latter is very well composed with Jurlique products. As it is already the case in Premium, the crew can store your jacket in a locker during the flight.
CATERING
On this night flight, a light dinner is served. A Supper with pan-fried Atlantic cod and its vegetables.
As breakfast is approaching, the crew comes to you, calling you by your name, to propose you a first hot drink service quickly followed by the main dish.
CONCLUSION
While admiring the sunrise, it’s time to start the descent to Brussels, ending a very pleasant flight with a service worthy of the best. If you have the occasion to fly Cathay Pacific do not hesitate. Their business service is one of the best and the airline is awarded by Skytrax with five stars and ranked 6th best airline in the world. The Business Class is available starting from EUR 2.510 between Hong Kong and Brussels. We want to thank Cathay Pacific for their cooperation in this partnership.
